Cornell Reunion Class Clerks

Our Class Clerks

Here are brief introductions to our seven class clerks. They will be at Class Headquarters and class events throughout the weekend to help out and answer any questions you have. There is no way we could pull off Reunion without them, so if you have the chance, please tell them "thank you!" during the course of the weekend.

  • Irene Shao
Originally from Toronto, I just graduated from Arts and Sciences with a double major in History and Asian Studies. I spent more time in Lincoln Hall though than most music majors because I studied in the only professorial studio for piano on campus. Focusing on post-1949 Chinese history, I completed an honors thesis on the Red Guard Movement within the Cultural Revolution. I will be going to London School of Economics for my Masters degree, and hope to begin a PhD program in History shortly afterwards and become a Professor of Chinese History. Other than piano, I have been a competitive debater for the past eight years, competing all over the world. At Cornell, I also served as a Peer Advisor and Orientation Leader.

  • Adwoa B. Nyantakyi
Originally from the Bronx, NY, I just finished my junior year at Cornell and am part of the class of 2012. I am a Human Development major in the college of Human Ecology and I am also pre-med. I plan on a career in the medical field and in particular, I would like to be a pediatric gastroenterologist or an anesthesiologist. One thing I very much enjoy is taking different dance classes here at Cornell. I also enjoy watching movies, playing ultimate Frisbee, and listening to music. I am focused and hardworking and I believe that will serve me well as a Reunion clerk.

  • Justin Finkle
I just graduated from the Biological Engineering program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. My father graduated in 1981, making me the second of my family to graduate from Cornell. At Cornell I have been involved in two Debate Clubs, undergraduate research, and during my sophomore year started a Dixie Jazz band. I love music and outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, and biking. Eventually, I hope to pursue an upper-level degree and continue to be involved in research, maybe one day becoming a university professor. As an engineer, I'm very technical. However, through my various activities I'm comfortable meeting new people, and I actually enjoy conversing with others.

  • Lucy Zheng
Originally from Redlands, CA, I am planning to graduate in December 2011 with a major in Psychology and Government in Arts & Sciences. I have been a research assistant for the Visual Perception Lab, researching memory and film, and hope to relate that to my future law career. During the school year, I teach piano for the Cornell Piano Society; and write, draw, and edit for Kitsch Magazine. Currently, I have plans to go to law school after this upcoming year, going into either criminal or international business law. My extensive experience in catering, restaurants, marketing and clerking for the Class of 1955 during Reunion 2010 has provided me with good hospitality and people skills.

  • Sarah Kay Dela Cruz
Originally from Poughkeepsie, NY, I just graduated from the College of ALS, majoring in Applied Economics and Management with a specialization in Marketing. While at Cornell, I was the captain of the Cornell Women's Thorny Roses Ultimate Frisbee team and an Instructor for Cornell Outdoor Education. I was also a student supervisor at the Hotel Library, where I had worked since my sophomore year. During my free time (and especially when it's warm out), I love spending time outside and with friends, whether we are just throwing around a frisbee on the Arts Quad or having a picnic on the slope.

  • Chris Bello
I just graduated from Arts and Sciences as a Biological Sciences major. I was born and raised in Miami, Fl. My parents are from Nicaragua but I am happy Miami offered an even more diverse ethnic community in which to grow-up, beyond a strictly Nicaraguan community. I am planning to pursue a career in medicine after taking a year off to hopefully be placed in an NIH funded research/training program that will allow to me to learn and work, specifically in the field of histopathology. I am very excited to be working as a Reunion clerk for the third year in a row. I am especially looking forward to helping the Class of 1991 have as much fun as they can.

  • Katie Clements
I just completed my junior year as a Biology major in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, from Saratoga Springs, NY. I am pursuing a program of study in Nutrition and a minor in Business. I hope to enter the field of biotechnology or pharmaceuticals upon graduation. I am also a proud fourth generation Cornellian. I returned for Reunion last year to clerk for the Class of 1965 and during Reunion 2009, I worked in the Youth Program. On campus, I organize programming for my sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, and have just completed my third year working in the Office of Alumni Affairs. In my spare time, I enjoy running and photography.
