What if I don't register ahead... can I still show up?

Yes and we will guarantee availability of housing!

Are there any events for families and children?

Absolutely! We are offering an exciting range of class and university activities planned for everyone, including future Cornellians! Bring your family and introduce them to your alma mater. All class events are casual and kid-friendly, and children are sure to enjoy the a cappella groups, class dinners, a multitude of campus activities and events, and our Saturday afternoon Fun-in-the-Sun extravaganza on the Arts Quad. While much of Reunion takes place on campus, don't forget to visit all the great sites for families off campus as well.

What are my options for child care?

Information on assorted child care options and additional details about bringing your family to Reunion are outlined in our families section of the website.

Is babysitting available?

We are unfortunately not able to sponsor babysitting services at our headquarters, but we encourage you bring a responsible babysitter with you (must be age 16 or older). This is a great opportunity for a high school aged friend to see the campus, or for an older relative or nanny to do the same. If you choose to bring a babysitter, they can register for the entire weekend for a reduced fee.

We also encourage you to take advantage of the University sponsored Kids Club Program and/or Cornell Child Care Center Program.

What percent of classmates returning for Reunion bring their children?

Approximately 15% of all alumni bring their children to Reunion, although historically, this number is higher for the 25th year Reunion class (~30%). This results in ~600-800 children at Reunion from all of the classes in attendance (and ~150 for the 25th year Reunion class).

What about housing during Reunion?

The class will be housed in the Court-Kay-Bauer Hall Complex on North Campus. Further details on housing and hotels can be found at our housing page.

What if I arrive late at night?

The class registration desk should be open until either midnight or 1 a.m., but in case you arrive later, there will be someone on call and available from Residence Life to allow you entry into a room; you can then register with the class later that morning. The on-call person will be located in Robert Purcell Union at all times that the class registration desk is closed.

Can classmates request to reserve rooms near each other in the dorms?

Although requests cannot be guaranteed, if you are interested in Housing near other specific classmates, please indicate so when you register and we will try our best to honor your request. Note that all parties must be registered, and those that register earlier will be more likely to receive their requests.

I'm coming to Reunion by myself. Does that mean that I'll be sharing a room with someone I don't know?

Classmates attending Reunion by themselves (i.e. no guests or spouses) will not be sharing rooms with anybody else, unless specifically requested. (And even if two people share a room, the cost per person will be the same as if only one person was in the room.) You may be placed in a room with two beds, but won't share that room with anyone else unless you ask otherwise.

Do you have any information on houses (to accommodate a large group) in the area that would be available for rent for the week?

We recommend you contact a local Ithaca area real estate broker or the Ithaca Convention & Visitor's Bureau (800-284-8422) to obtain more information.

Can a non-'91 Cornell graduate register and stay in Class of '91 housing?

Yes, but only if they register with the Class of '91 for the weekend. Only those that pay the Class of '91 registration fee are allowed to stay in the Class of '91 housing.

Are there any organized sports and recreation events?

There are numerous sports and recreational opportunities throughout the weekend. Events include the the Reunion Run, canoeing on Beebe Lake, Reunion Row, a zip line across the Hemlock gorge (far end of Beebe Lake), the Hoffman Challenge Course, horseback riding with private lessons, and instructor-led rappelling off the Schoellkopf Crescent. The various fitness centers on campus will be available, as well as time for bowling, swimming, billiards, racquetball, squash, handball and more.

Can I play golf?

There will be tee times available at the Campus golf course. To schedule a tee time, we recommend that you call ahead (607-254-6531).

Will there be a cappella groups?

Some of Cornell's traditional a cappella groups will be performing at Reunion. You'll be able to enjoy their singing at multiple university-wide events. They are always very popular, and details will be available as to the location and times of their performances on the general university Reunion website, as well as at our class headquarters during the weekend.

Will I have free time to explore campus and/or Ithaca?

There will be plenty of time throughout the weekend to explore! We have structured the weekend's activities to allow you ample free time. If you intend to go to a favorite restaurant, reservations are recommended.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not allowed in the residence halls except for guide dogs. The university's policy on 'wandering dogs' has changed since we graduated. Dogs must now be on leash with their owners at all times while on campus.

What is the parking situation on campus during Reunion weekend?

There is no charge for parking anywhere on campus from Thursday at noon through Sunday. Cars will be ticketed though if they are parked in fire lanes, handicapped spaces, on lawns, or in spaces where signs indicate "reserved at all times."

Who will be attending?

Once registration begins in the spring, we will start posting a list of those planning to attend Reunion. We encourage you to contact other classmates to convince them to also attend Reunion. If you need assistance finding classmates, drop us an email and we should be able to help you contact them.

What will we be eating?

Although most meals are catered (more details in the spring) and included in your class registration fee, you can eat at your favorite places around campus and Ithaca for Friday and Saturday lunches. If you intend to go to a favorite restaurant, reservations are strongly recommended.

What if I have special dietary concerns?

If you have any special dietary restrictions, just let us know by May 27, and we should be able to accommodate your needs. You can indicate this when you register, or you may contact our Reunion Chairs.

What about Hot Truck?

Bob Petrillose (who sadly passed away in 2008) sold the Hot Truck to the owners of Shortstop Deli back in 2000. The new owners have continued Bob's tradition and the Hot Truck will be stationed on the Arts Quad for the Friday and Saturday night tent parties.

Is there a way to post who will be attending or who has arrived once you get to Ithaca?

Yes, and we will be constantly updating it throughout the weekend.

Any opportunity for career networking during the weekend?

During the weekend, we may have a place in our headquarters to post business cards. If you might be interested in this, or have other ideas, please contact our Reunion Chairs.

What about Internet access in the dorms?

Wi-Fi access is provided free of charge. RedRover is Cornell's Wi-Fi service. Using RedRover, you can connect a computer or portable electronic device with Wi-Fi capability to the Internet. It is recommended that you activate your Cornell NetID prior to arriving in Ithaca. This will help you facilitate connecting to the Wi-Fi upon arrival.

What is the dress code for the weekend?

Casual. Shorts and t-shirts are perfectly fine for all events for the entire weekend. One can generally expect 90's during the day, 70's at night. As we have no way of predicting the Ithaca weather, also bring some warmer clothes; temperatures at some previous Reunions have been known to drop down into the upper 40's at night and only into the 50's during the day (remember our 15th year Reunion in 2006?!).

What should I bring with me for the weekend?

First see the dress code info in a previous question. Other things to remember include bug repellant, sunscreen, beach towel and bathing suit (especially for those going to the creeks/lake/state parks), and an umbrella (just in case it starts to Ithacate... ). If you are staying in the dorm, you may also want to consider bringing a hairdryer, fans (since the dorms are not air conditioned), a robe/cover-up (the dorms have shared bathrooms), and if children are planning to sleep on the floor, sleeping bags and/or an air mattress as well.

I want to attend Reunion, but my current financial situation prevents me from being able to do so. Do I have any options?

We have tried to keep the Reunion fees affordable without compromising programming and the overall quality of the weekend. If think your current financial situation will prevent you from returning for our 25th year Reunion, please contact our Registration Chair Bob Baca to discuss some options. He should be able to put together a package to allow you to attend.

How can I build my own personalized Reunion weekend itinerary?

As Reunion approaches, you will be able to do this at the general University Reunion website.

Where can I get more information?

If you are on Facebook, we also recommend you join the Cornell 91 page to obtain additional updates on Reunion. If you require further information, contact our Reunion Chairs, or our Reunion Registration Chair. They will be happy to assist you.
